Get Healthy: April's Tips

I'm starting a monthly round up of the health tips I've provided on social media. (For those of you who follow VITTAS WELLNESS religiously on social media and have already seen them, consider these a very healthy review!) Hope you enjoy!

HEALTH TIP: Get your blood sugar under control!
Almost everyone experiences some amount of blood sugar dysregulation, and it's so important to get this under control - especially before it becomes full-fledged diabetes. Rates of diabetes have exploded in recent years, and the problem is only getting worse. Did you know that people with diabetes die, on average, 6 years earlier? And they're significantly more likely to have heart disease, stroke, dementia, depression, high blood pressure, nerve problems, blindness, Alzheimer's, fatty liver, sexual dysfunction, renal disease, and about a million other health complications.
Please get your blood sugar under control ASAP! Eat in a way that supports healthy blood sugar levels. See an integrative healthcare professional if you don't know how, but a reliable place to start is to stop drinking sweetened beverages, stop eating so many refined carbohydrates, and stop eating so much processed food. These terrible dietary habits are not worth losing 6+ years of your life - in addition to the reduced quality of life you experience for much, much longer. Eat healthy now and reap the benefits for the rest of your life. And you don't have to wait years to see results; from the get go you will have more energy, a stronger immune system, better skin, a significantly lower risk of disease, and so much more.

HEALTH TIP: Make sure to choose WILD-CAUGHT salmon, not farm-raised salmon! Wild salmon is much richer in omega-3 fatty acids, the wonderfully anti-inflammatory compounds that help keep our brains healthy, our skin beautiful, and our immune systems strong!

HEALTH TIP: Be aware of the skincare products you are using! Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs about 60% of what we put on it.
If you're using products with the endocrine disruptors and noxious chemicals that most companies unfortunately formulate their products with, then you are absorbing these and damaging your health! Choose products wisely.
